The characteristics of Dunnage Airbags are; 1. A polyethylene bladder of 100+mu co-extruded to manufactured
  specifications to obtain 9 psi in an 11” restrained void for 60 seconds2. Extensible plies of Kraft paper which meet or exceeds the
  requirement of rule 40 of the uniform freight code3. Quick-Fill (Safety) valve, easier positioning and inflation of the bag,
  and large safety margin between inflation pressure & burst pressure.

Dunnage Airbags are placed in the open space between the cargo and then inflated with compressed air.

The inflated airbags put constant pressure on the load and keep it in place during the entire journey. Dunnage airbags replace traditional methods of load securement (such as old pallets and timber bracing) which are expensive, time consuming and mostly unreliable.

The criteria governing the positioning of dunnage airbags inside a container is determined by a number of factors. The first factor is the product and its weight, method of packing and securement to the pallet. The second is the space to be filled (void) this determines the width of the airbag to be used, as it is the width of the airbag that determines the expansion capability. The third factor is the height of the pallet(s) this will determine the length of the airbag to be used. The fourth factor is the method of transportation and destination.

The single trip one –way airbag is specifically designed to be disposable, several features of the airbag where the specification not the quality of the bag could be changed in order to make an airbag that was more market receptive and could be looked on by the shipper / user as a cost effective efficient and disposable item.

Not only is the system designed to ensure the SAFE inflation of the airbag, But!! with no extra bits to plug in after inflation it also eliminates air escapement due to human error!

This means that if the airbag is installed correctly, protected against sharp objects and is inflated to the correct pressure, filling the void effectively then it will cope easily with almost any weight of load that can be legally loaded into a container / truck or rail wagon.
